UPDATE (5/30/25)

Not a member yet?  Join now...we're still only $20/year. Click on the New Member Signup MENU above!

On May 16th, John Haffner asked that we send out a 2025 VRCS Officer NOMINATION survey to members.  Please see the email you received and it takes less than 5 minutes to complete.  John Haffner will be retiring from office, so the President and Vice-President positions require nominations.  You can either Self-Nominate or Write-In a nomination for these two critical positions.  Nominees will be contacted to obtain permission to place their names on the election ballot.

Please complete this survey by June 10th so we can assemble the list of nominees to go to full membership vote.  Thank you John for your years of service to our VRCS community!

Scroll down to see information on our new VRCS FORUMS.  Members are talking/asking for help on vintage aircraft!  VRCS Members can now SELL/BUY/POST WANTED items for sale in the new "FOR SALE" forum thread!

See the CURRENT NEWSLETTER - click on the DOCUMENTS tab and find the "Current Newsletter" file. Enjoy!

VRCS FORUM DISCUSSIONS

Hello VRCS Members:

We just added a Members-Only FORUM section to our website.  The purpose is to create a VRCS-focused discussion forum for our members to share relevant information, questions, help needed, etc. for all.  As a member, you can read AND contribute to an existing forum discussion, or create your own discussion where fellow members can engage with you in your topic.  We've included some screen shot photos below showing you how you can get to the forums once you log into the site.  Below that, we've also added photo screen shots on how you can start a NEW discussion thread as well.

We have also added a FOR SALE forum thread as well here.  VRCS members can sell/buy/post wanted items too in the FOR SALE forum thread!

Let's make this a value-added part of our organizational website, designed to inform and help members with any VRCS-related topics.  Please be respectful in your discussions.  Enjoy and thank you!

Newsflash: Theme Plane Committee selects 2025 Theme Plane

The theme plane committee has chosen the Dave Robelen designed “Pronto”. Featured in the August 1972 issue of Model Airplane News magazine, the Pronto is a simple, quick building, low wing monoplane for .15 to .25 power. It’s a great performer and capable Class II flier on a Veco .19 and a fair performer with a McCoy redhead .19. An Enya .19 would be an excellent choice as well (Ed. Note: This is one of my favorite airplanes).

The plans can be downloaded from the Outer Zone website: https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=1740 or printed plans can be ordered from the Air Age Store.com: https://www.airagestore.com/product/pronto/.

Build a Pronto for this season’s flying fun.

The “Blast from the Past” theme plane is the Andrews’ Trainermaster from AAmco.

Our Mission

The Vintage Radio Control Society (VRCS) is an organization dedicated to the preservation of our radio control history - the achievements of those electronic and airframe design pioneers that made radio control flight the best hobby/sport in the world today. We do this through our bi-monthly newsletter, The Vintage Flier, annual reunions and fly-in events.

Our Objective

Our primary objective is to build and fly vintage model aircraft designed specifically for radio control. We recommend the use of modern radios and motors for reliability.  Vintage radios can be used if they are reconditioned to today's reliability standards. Internal combustion power can be replaced by electric power if desired.
